National coverage distribution for patients taking Sensipar®

The chart below categorizes covered lives according to 4 coverage types based on Sensipar® claims data: Medicare Standard Part D, Medicare Part D dual-eligible and Medicaid, commercial insurance, and cash/uninsured.1

Since Sensipar® is an oral medication, it is covered under Medicare Part D. In total, the Part D plans account for 67% of the covered lives. Part D dual-eligible patients are those who have Part D coverage plus the low-income subsidy.1

Sixteen percent of patients qualified for Medicare Standard Part D, and 51% were Medicare Part D dual-eligible or were Medicaid recipients. Only 3% of Sensipar® patients were uninsured or paid cash.1

Sensipar® Part D Low-income Subsidy Coverage Distribution (National Level)2-4‡

Three main categories of patients who may be eligible for the low-income subsidy:8

  • Dual-eligible: no premiums or deductibles, and small co-pays up to $6.00
  • < 135% FPL: no premiums or deductibles, and small co-pays up to $6.00
  • 135% to 150% FPL: sliding scale premium

85% of Medicare Part D patients on Sensipar® will not experience a gap in coverage (“donut hole”)7
